Hamilton: The penalties won’t happen again

Lewis Hamilton is determined to cut out the penalties that blotted an otherwise perfect 2020 season for the world champion. The 35-year-old was penalised by the stewards at the Austrian, Italian and Russian Grands Prix, with the time-loss costing him a potential victory on each occasion. Hamilton was given a grid drop ahead of the opening race of the year after failing to lift under yellow flags during qualifying, before picking up a five-second penalty in the race following a collision with Alex Albon. At Monza, the Mercedes driver was given a 10-second stop-and-go penalty for entering a closed pitlane, while he picked up two five-second penalties in Sochi for conducting illegal practice...
