This will be the starting number of debutant Tsunoda at AlphaTauri!
Yuki Tsunoda finished third in the F2 Championship and will replace Daniil Kvyat at AlphaTauri in 2021. Pierre Gasly's new teammate will drive there with starting number 22. The starting number that previously belonged to Button was used for the last time in 2017. Three new starting numbers in 2021 Button was already using it at Brawn GP when he became champion, but when he had to fill in for Fernando Alonso in the Monaco race in 2017, just after he retired, the starting number came back. Tsunoda chooses to rejoin the grid in 2021 with the number. Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin, Haas F1's new driver duo, have chosen numbers 47 and 9 respectively, as they announced earlier.
