Williams appoints Jost Capito as Chief Executive Officer

Williams Racing has appointed former Volkswagen motorsport boss Jost Capito as its new chief executive officer, a responsibility the German will take on from February 1, 2021. Williams also confirmed on Thursday that interim team principal Simon Roberts has been designated permanently in the role. Capito's four-decade involvement in motorsport has seen the German fulfill executive roles with Porsche, Ford and Volkswagen, but he also enjoyed a brief stint at McLaren in 2016 before returning to Volkswagen to manage the company's Volkswagen R GmbH and Volkswagen Zubehor GmbH road-car subsidiaries.
