Hamilton hopes to seal new Mercedes deal before Christmas

Lewis Hamilton hopes he can set in stone his near-term F1 future with Mercedes before Christmas, or by the end of next week. The seven-time world champion and Mercedes F1 boss Toto Wolff have laid the foundations of a new contract in the past months, with both parties publicly expressing their desire to continue their successful partnership. But a few details remain to be agreed.
