Drivers warned over track limits at the Yas Marina Circuit

Formula 1 drivers have been warned their lap times will be deleted should they exceed track limits for the final corner of the Yas Marina Circuit. The venue will once more host the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, bringing down the curtain on the 17-race schedule, which was heavily revised due to the Covid-19 pandemic. FIA track notes for the weekend state: ‘A lap time achieved during any practice session by leaving the track on the exit of Turn 21, will result in that lap time and the immediately following lap time being invalidated by the stewards. ‘A driver will be judged to have left the track if no part of the car remains in contact with the track.'
