Ricciardo: feels like the first podium all over again

Eifel Grand Prix – Daniel Ricciardo took his debut podium for Renault and his first trip back to the rostrum since victory in Monaco back in 2018. Ricciardo was absolutely thrilled with his result, laughing with delight over the radio after taking the chequered flag. Ricciardo has finished just off the podium in fourth on three occasions this year, so his claim of “Persistence pays off” on team radio after the race was incredibly apt. Starting from sixth, Ricciardo got past the Red Bull of Alexander Albon at the start and was in fourth by the time the first pit stops came around.
