Can Hamilton win? Bottas retires with engine trouble!
Valtteri Bottas started the Eifel Grand Prix from pole position, but after twenty laps the Finn announced on the on-board radio that he had engine problems and could not go any further. In the end, the Mercedes driver had a problem with his Mercedes engine. This makes the victory of the Eifel Grand Prix a direct fight between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. The reigning world champion is still ahead of the Dutchman, but the difference is not great. Even with the threatening rain hanging over the circuit, there is still plenty to do. Bottas is slowing!
