FIA reveals plans to continue Eifel GP despite heavy fog

The first and second free practice sessions fell completely into the water on Friday. Although the conditions on the track were pretty bad, in the end it was the dense fog that caused both sessions to be completely cancelled. This is because the trauma helicopter cannot take off safely in this fog in order to fly an injured driver to the hospital. The designated hospital is in Koblenz, which the FIA considers to be too far away with a simple ambulance.
