'Honda knows they can't catch up with Mercedes by cutting back'

Honda shocked the Formula 1 world last week with the announcement that they will leave the royal class after next year. Since then, there has been a lot of speculation about the reason for leaving because the reason given by Honda is not believed by everyone. Auto,Motor und Sport did an analysis on the possible reasons for departure. Honda is going to stop in Formula 1 because they want to be climate neutral in the future and, according to the Japanese, the hybrid engines in Formula 1 do not fit this ambition.
