Honda signs extension with Indycar after F1 departure

Honda may be getting out of Formula 1, but that doesn't mean they are out of the motorsport business, with the Japanese manufacturer signing a multiyear extension with IndyCar on Saturday. One of two companies supplying engines to the IndyCar grid alongside Chevrolet, both companies have now committed to a sport which will see its own shake-up in engine formula with the introduction of 2.4 litre, twin-turbocharged V6's with hybrid technology from the 2023 season onwards. “To be able to announce a long-term, multi-year extension with our two great partners is phenomenal,” said IndyCar President Jay Frye. “It’s an exciting time in INDYCAR with the innovations in the car, the new...
