FP1: Mercedes 1-2 despite the Spanish heat

Rivals' hopes of a hot Spanish GP weekend hurting Mercedes evaporated on Friday with Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton almost a second quicker than P3 in FP1. On a weekend where many thought the track temperature could potentially put Mercedes on the back foot, it was instead an all too close encounter with a bird that created the biggest drama for Mercedes. Late in the session Bottas hit a bird at Turn 9, resulting in feathers everywhere.
