Engine changes ‘will take twice as long'

Engine changes to Formula 1 cars could take twice as long under new measures to protect mechanics from COVID-19. That's the prediction of Racing Point technical director Andrew Green, who believes reliability will be key to compressing the demand on teams. The new protocols come into force when the season starts in Austria on July 5 and Green told reporters his team are coming to terms with the new reality of everything taking more time. The procedures restrict the number of mechanics and engineers working on the car together.
