F1 rules delay makes absolute sense – Racing Point
Racing Point team boss Otmar Szafnauer has backed Formula 1’s
decision to delay its new regulations by a year, but says team won’t be able to
relax when the sport returns to action. Formula 1 is currently on a prolonged hiatus due to the coronavirus
pandemic and will not return to competitive competition until at least mid-June. It has brought forward its summer break to March and April,
extending it by a week, with Racing Point serving its shutdown through until
April 16. Formula 1, the FIA and teams agreed to delay the
introduction of the new regulations by a year while this season’s chassis will
