Alfa Romeo formally unveils C39 ahead of testing
Alfa Romeo has become the final team to officially launch
its 2020 Formula 1 challenger, the C39, ahead of the start of pre-season
testing. The covers were taken off the new car during a low-key
unveiling in the pit lane at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, shortly before
the start of the first day of testing. Kimi Raikkonen gave the C39 a shakedown at Fiorano last
Friday, with the car running in a special one-off snakeskin-inspired colour scheme. Alfa Romeo finished eighth in last year’s Constructors’
Championship, replicating Sauber’s 2018 position, as it struggled to
consistently develop its C38. It has retained 2007 World Champion Raikkonen and
Ferrari-affiliated Antonio...
