Suzuka FP1: Bottas pips Hamilton for top spot
Mercedes drivers Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton dominated the first free practice of the Japanese Grand Prix on Friday, finishing one-two in the 90-minute session at Suzuka The Finn edged out his British teammate by 0.076 with the best time of 1:28.731, which was a full second up on Ferrari duo Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc who were third and fourth respectively followed by Red Bull's Max Verstappen in fifth on the timing screens and Alex Albon sixth.
