Spanish Grand Prix confirmed for 2020

The Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya has been granted a reprieve for at least a year, and will go ahead in 2020. The Spanish Grand Prix was expected to fall by the wayside in 2020, due to declining Spanish interest after Fernando Alonso's departure from the sport, political instability in the Catalonian region, as well as the arrival of the Dutch Grand Prix into the same time period in early to mid-May. However, Formula 1 has announced that an agreement has been signed to keep the Spanish GP at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya for, at least, 2020.
