Chinese GP: Antonelli gets it done, for Mercedes and Italy!

The 2026 Chinese Grand Prix delivered a historic changing of the guard as 19-year-old Kimi Antonelli secured his maiden Formula 1 victory. In just his 26th start, the Mercedes prodigy became the second-youngest winner in the sport's history and the first Italian victor since 2006, leading home a Silver Arrows 1-2 in a masterclass of composure and raw pace. Starting from his first career pole, Antonelli initially lost the lead to the man he replaced in 2025 at Mercedes, Lewis Hamilton. However, the Italian’s tenure in second place was brief.
