Bahrain - Day 2: Leclerc fastest mid-day as rivals hit trouble

Charles Leclerc lit up the Bahrain circuit on Thursday morning, sending Ferrari to the top of the timesheets in the second session of Formula 1’s opening pre-season test – but the headline lap came amid a backdrop of mechanical headaches for several frontrunners. Just over an hour into running, Leclerc unleashed a 1m34.273s in the SF-26, a time that edged comfortably ahead of Wednesday’s best effort from McLaren’s Lando Norris. The Monegasque’s benchmark, however, came on soft tyres, while Norris once again relied on mediums to secure second place with a 1m34.784s....
