Audi shocks at F1 Bahrain test with radical sidepod gamble

As Formula 1 teams resumed in Bahrain their pre-season preparations, Audi unveiled an R26 so radically different from its shakedown spec that it sent the paddock’s technical spies into a full-blown frenzy. The car that rolled out of the garage in Sakhir on Wednesday morning bore little resemblance to the "safe" launch-spec version seen behind closed doors in Barcelona just two weeks ago.
