Maldonado handed 10-place grid penalty for engine change

Pastor Maldonado has been handed a 10-place grid penalty after using his sixth engine of the season in first practice for the 2014 Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka.Maldonado is the second man to earn a grid penalty under 2014 regulations that state that each driver can use no more than five of any of the six power unit components - the engine, MGU-K, MGU-H, energy store, turbocharger and control electronics - over the course of the season.The Venezuelan will therefore drop 10 places from wherever he qualifies on Saturday.
