Kovalainen hopes new role leads to more

Heikki Kovalainen is hoping that his new Caterham reserve role will put him in a much stronger position to land a full-time return in the future, with the Finn set for Friday practice outings at the upcoming Bahrain and Spanish Grands Prix. Although the 31-year-old admits that he has no race plans at present, he believes further track time will only encourage outfits to look more seriously at his capabilities. "There are no plans to race at the moment," Kovalainen explained. "The plan at the moment is for me to drive on Fridays to help the team as much as I can. I want to race in the future and being here puts me in a better position if there is ever going to be a race drive...
