Kubica fastest as second test gets underway

Alfa Romeo test driver Robert Kubica clocked the fastest time during the opening morning of the second Formula 1 pre-season test of 2020. Kubica vaulted to the top of the timesheets by clocking a lap of 1:16.942s on the C5 tyres at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain. Only Mercedes has gone faster so far in pre-season testing. AlphaTauri's running was delayed by a loose pipe but Pierre Gasly returned to action to finish second, 0.598s behind Kubica, while Alexander Albon's programme was also delayed on account of Red Bull undertaking suspension work.
