Schmidt: Decision to drop Hinchcliffe was ‘gut-wrenching'

Arrow McLaren boss Sam Schmidt said the decision to drop James Hinchcliffe from their 2020 line-up was a very difficult one to make. Speaking in the wake of the announcement on Wednesday that the McLaren Indycar team, formerly Schmidt Peterson Motorsport, will field Patricio O'Ward and Oliver Askew for their 2020 campaign, Sam Schmidt was asked about how the decision was reached to drop contracted driver James Hinchcliffe from their team.
