Hamilton edges Verstappen as duo clear field in Singapore FP2

Reigning World Champion Lewis Hamilton moved to the front of the timesheets during second practice for Formula 1’s Singapore Grand Prix. Hamilton and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen finished comfortably clear of the chasing pack at the conclusion of the 90-minute session, held beneath the lights at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. Hamilton’s time of 1:38.773 left him 0.184s clear of Verstappen, with third-placed Sebastian Vettel 0.818s down on the current points leader. Valtteri Bottas, who crashed in the first session, was a low-key fourth, 1.1s behind his Mercedes team-mate, while Alexander Albon recovered from an early prang at Turn 10 to classify fifth.
