Pirelli to bring hardest tyre compounds to Belgium, Japan

Formula 1 tyre supplier Pirelli has confirmed its compound choices for upcoming grands prix in Belgium and Japan. Pirelli, Formula 1’s tyre supplier since 2011, has this year modified its approach, reducing its dry tyre range to five compounds, ranging from C1 (hardest) to C5 (softest). For the high-energy events at Spa-Francorchamps and Suzuka the C1s, C2s and C3s will be used. That selection was also taken for Bahrain and Spain, and will also be used at the forthcoming British Grand Prix. As per usual teams must save one set of the Soft tyres for Q3 while either the Mediums or Hards must be used for one stint of the grand prix. Drivers are then permitted free choice of Soft, Medium...
