Bratches: Interlagos has 2020 Brazilian Grand Prix contract

Formula 1 is keen to race in Rio de Janeiro but the current contract with Sao Paulo also covers next year, commercial managing director Sean Bratches told reporters in Barcelona on Saturday. Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro announced on Wednesday that the country’s grand prix will be held in Rio from 2020 onwards, with a new track to be built in the city’s Deodoro region. He suggested the new track, to be named after the late triple world champion Ayrton Senna and funded by private investment, could be built in six to seven months.
