Giovinazzi handed ten-place grid drop
Azerbaijan Grand Prix – Alfa Romeo driver Antonio Giovinazzi has been given a ten-place grid penalty for this weekend's race in Baku. The Italian has received his first grid drop of the season for a unscheduled change in power unit components, with his Alfa Romeo receiving a new control electronics from suppliers Ferrari. For 2019, cars are allowed to use only two control electronics over the course of a season. As this is Giovinazzi's third unit – and the first of his power unit components to go over the allocated amount – he receives a ten-place grid penalty.
