Formula 3 championship to have unrestricted use of DRS
Drivers in the Formula 3 championship will have unrestricted use of DRS during races. The new FIA series will replace GP3 on the support bill in 2019, and the unlimited use of the overtaking aid is hoped to produce some special races. Previously in GP3, the rules only allowed drivers to use DRS six times in the feature race, and just four in the sprint race. This is in complete contrast to how it'll be next season. "GP3 have it, GP3 limit the amount of usage during a race but we've done away with that [for FIA Formula 3], like F2 and F1, as long as they are in the one-second detection range," the FIA's Charlie Whiting told Autosport.
