Ricciardo set to start last in Germany

Daniel Ricciardo is set to start Sunday's German Grand Prix from the back of the grid after the FIA confirmed Red Bull has changed a number of parts on his Formula 1 power unit, exceeding his part limit for the season. Ricciardo said on Thursday the team was braced for a grid drop as a result of the power unit changes, made to improve the team's chances next weekend in Hungary as well as offering a boost heading into the remainder of the season. The FIA confirmed following the start of first practice on Friday that Ricciardo's car had been fitted with a new MGU-K, control electronics and energy store, exceeding his element limit for the season on all three parts.
