Haryanto 'seven million euros short' of completing 2016 season

Rio Haryanto has revealed he was “seven million euros short” of the funding needed to complete the 2016 Formula 1 season with Manor. The team confirmed earlier this week that Haryanto had been dropped from a race seat, being replaced by Renault reserve driver Esteban Ocon. Manor said Haryanto failed to meet his contractual obligations but offered him a reserve driver role, which he accepted. In his 12-race stint with the British squad, Haryanto scored a best finish of 15th place at the Monaco Grand Prix. His original contract was for 11 rounds, up until the Hungarian Grand Prix.
