Bite-size tech: Mercedes W07 cooling requirements
The W07 has been dressed with several pieces of bodywork that address the additional requirements of the power unit around the short twisty Hungaroring. Rejecting latent heat generated by the power unit and its ancillaries is a task that desires more attention at circuits like the Hungaroring, but it comes at the cost of aerodynamic efficiency. As such, Mercedes has looked to marginalise this with more changes to the cockpit louvres and by increasing the aperture around the front leg of the upper rear wishbone (above), as we have seen them do in other races.
