Lewis Hamilton wins at home, Nico Rosberg second but under investigation

Lewis Hamilton drove a controlled race to claim his fourth victory of the 2016 season and his third consecutive British Grand Prix win in difficult conditions, to become the most successful British driver at Silverstone. The Briton led from start to finish to cross the line seven seconds ahead of team-mate Nico Rosberg in second, however the second Mercedes is under investigation after the team gave him instructions over team radio, which are now illegal under new rules. Should Rosberg receive a penalty, Red Bull's Max Verstappen, who finished third, could find himself in second place.
