Feature: Countries to field one F1 driver
– In securing the second seat at Manor Racing for 2016, Rio Haryanto will become the first driver from Indonesia to compete in Formula 1. GPUpdate.net reflects on other drivers who have been the sole representative from their nation throughout the history of the sport. Chile – Eliseo SalazarChile has its Formula 1 heritage thanks to Eliseo Salazar, whose success was limited in the sport. Salazar attempted to qualify for 37 races between 1981 and 1983 but only made the grid for 24, his best result a fifth place in San Marino 1982. Notably, this was a race in which only 14 cars were entered due to the FISA-FOCA battle and Salazar was thrice-lapped and the last classified runner....
