After qualifying fourth, he aggressively climbed to third at the first corner, ahead of McLaren team-mate Fernando Alonso, and gained another place when BMW Sauber driver Nick Heidfeld faded. Alonso would jump ahead at the final round of pit-stops by pitting a lap later, but Hamilton nonetheless claimed the first of many Formula 1...
