Carter: Lotus & Renault talks ‘positive'

Lotus' chief executive officer Matthew Carter has confirmed that a Renault buy-out is close and that news should be expected ‘next week'. Renault have been linked to a buyout of the Lotus team for much of the season, but whilst negotiations have been ongoing, the Enstone-based team have been experiencing financial difficulties. With current owner Genii Capital trying to put as little money into the team as possible whilst negotiations are ongoing, cash flow problems have resulted in the Lotus team being locked out of their hospitality unit this weekend owing to unpaid debts.
