Rosberg tops Spa practice before tyre failure
Nico Rosberg was fastest again in second practice for the Belgian Grand Prix before a tyre-failure ended his session. Rosberg, fastest in the morning session, posted a 1m49.687s on the soft tyres to end the day four-tenths clear of Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton. The German set the pace on the medium tyres, and maintained his position at the head of the leaderboard when he jumped to the faster soft Pirelli rubber. He was six laps into a long-run when a tyre blow-out sent him spinning of at Blanchimont, with Rosberg fortunate to keep his Mercedes car out of the barriers.
