Smith joins Sauber as technical director

Sauber F1 Team Sauber has confirmed that Mark Smith has been appointed as the squad's new technical director. Smith has extensive experience in Formula 1, having occupied similar roles with Jordan, Force India, Red Bull and most recently Caterham. Smith will begin his duties on July 13 and will fit into the existing structure at the Swiss team. "When I saw the facilities for the first time in Hinwil, I immediately realised the possibilities I would have," Smith said.
