Alonso suffers heavy shunt as Sainz tops times

CLICK HERE for F1 test results [Sunday AM]. Carlos Sainz has topped the final morning of F1 testing at the Circuit de Catalunya in a session curtailed by an accident for McLaren's Fernando Alonso. Sainz hit the front of the field mid-way through the morning in the Toro Rosso, his benchmark of 1m 25.604secs holding firm to the chequered flag to mirror the efforts of team-mate Max Verstappen at this stage yesterday. However, as the teams break for lunch, much of the attention is on McLaren once again after Alonso suffered what was described as a big shunt just 15mins before the end of the session.
