Three car teams a possibility in 2015
During the announcement of McLaren‘s 2015 driver line-up the team's superemo Ron Dennis revealed that his team has a contract to run three cars should more Formula 1 teams collapse in the wake of the demise of Marussia and Caterham during the last few weeks of the 2014 season.
Dennis revealed, 'We now have a contractual obligation to run three cars in the event that the grid falls below 16 cars or less.'
'I still feel two teams have great challenges left to get to next year's grid,' he said. 'And it is my intention to try to assist them to that, because I believe that third cars are not good for F1. However we have a contract: and if we have to...
