Mercedes matches McLaren's 1988 one-two record

With Lewis Hamilton winning the United States Grand Prix on Sunday ahead of teammate Nico Rosberg, Mercedes matched the record of the most one-two finishes in a season set by McLaren in 1988. But McLaren, with Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost as its drivers, achieved the feat in 16 races while Mercedes took 17 and with two more Grands Prix remaining this season, the German manufacturer is set to break the record. In their one-twos, Hamilton has finished ahead of Rosberg eight times, similar to the McLaren record wherein Senna finished ahead of Prost on seven occasions.
