Hamilton beats Rosberg by 0.003 secs in U.S. GP practice

Lewis Hamilton laid the marker at the United States Grand Prix by emerging quickest in both the practice sessions on Friday but the margin to title rival and Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg was paper thin. Hamilton, the championship leader, was only 0.003 seconds faster than Rosberg in the afternoon. Fernando Alonso was more than a second adrift in third in his Ferrari suggesting that the Mercedes duo would be battling further ahead than the competition at the Circuit of the Americas. Red Bull has been plagued with issues already. Daniel Ricciardo was fourth but had power unit issues in the first session while teammate Sebastian Vettel was dead last, nearly five seconds off the pace. The...
