Hamilton edges Rosberg in second US session

Mercedes AMG Petronas Lewis Hamilton edged out Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg by just 0.003s to top the second practice session for the United States Grand Prix. Rosberg set a time of 1:39.088 to lead Hamilton by 0.053s after their low-fuel runs on Option tyres but Hamilton responded on his second flying lap to post a 1:39.085. However, Hamilton’s session ended 15 minutes prematurely with his Mercedes W05 Hybrid in the garage. Both Mercedes drivers had complained of gearbox problems while beginning their race simulations.
