Vergne 'best option' for Toro Rosso seat

Red Bull/Getty Images Jean-Eric Vergne says he is the best candidate to continue with Toro Rosso into the 2015 season. Vergne has raced with the squad since the start of 2012 but his future looked uncertain following Toro Rosso's decision to pair Daniil Kvyat with Max Verstappen for next season. But Sebastian Vettel's departure from Red Bull enabled Kvyat to be promoted, thus opening up a vacancy at the junior team. Vergne, who faces competition from Formula Renault 3.5 champion Carlos Sainz Jr, runner-up Pierre Gasly and GP3 leader Alex Lynn, says that continuity will be best for both him and Toro Rosso.
