BRDC takes Silverstone control
There has been major upheaval at Silverstone with three senior staff suspended and the British Racing Drivers' Club taking a more hands-on role in the circuit's operation.The home of the British GP is operated by Silverstone Circuits Limited (SCL) which in turn is owned by the BRDC.BRDC Chairman John Grant and BRDC Director Lawrence Tomlinson have assumed the role of Joint Acting Chief Executive of SCL.The BRDC say the timing of the restructuring and the suspension of staff including Managing Director Richard Phillips are coincidental and the events are unrelated.
