Gastaldi: Lotus efforts deserve reward

Lotus deputy team principal Federico Gastaldi insists that his squad deserves something to show for the work that has gone on behind the scenes as the F1 season heads to Japan next weekend. While the E22 has not been the greatest car produced at Enstone, Gastaldi says he cannot fault the effort that has been shown through the first 14 rounds as Lotus struggles to break into the top ten and add to the eight points accrued at the Spanish and Monaco grands prix. “Singapore showed we could be in the hunt for points on merit,” he pointed out, “It was satisfying to get a second consecutive double finish of course, but ultimately we want points.
