Dan thought Merc 'had more in the bag'

Daniel Ricciardo admits he was surprised to find himself so close to the two Mercedes cars during qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix. The Red Bull driver had been up there the whole weekend and it looked like he could snatch P1 after claiming provisional pole with a time of a 1:45.854 after the chequered flag came out on Saturday. However, both Mercedes drivers were behind him on the track and first he was pushed down by Nico Rosberg before Lewis Hamilton took pole with a time of 1:45.681. Ricciardo believes "it could be on" during the race after being beaten by just 0.173s. "Were are pleasantly surprised with the result and how close it was," Ricciardo said....
