Newey describes Belgian GP as “damage limitation” for Red Bull

Red Bull Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey has described this weekend’s Belgian Grand Prix as “damage limitation” for the reigning World Champions, after a troubled start to the weekend. During the two practice sessions both Vettel and Ricciardo were plagued with numerous mechanical gremlins, and therefore fully expect a tough weekend in the midfield. During the opening practice session Sebastian Vettel completed only eleven laps before being struck with an MGU-K issue, which subsequently brought a premature conclusion to both his participation in FP1 and the remainder of the day.
