Interlagos starts upgrade programme

An $80 million upgrade programme for the Interlagos circuit in Sao Paulo, home to the Brazilian Grand Prix, has started. This includes the building of a brand new pit complex for the 2015 race, which will see the current cramped facilities demolished and rebuilt to a higher specification. It will give the teams larger garages and paddock space. Previously plans were to build a new complex on the back straight between turns three and four. However, this plan has been ditched in favour of building a new pit facility on the current location.
