FIA confirms standing restarts from 2015

Williams Martini Racing The World Motor Sport Council has ratified changes for the 2015 season which will see standing restarts following a safety car period. Under current regulations, the race leader dictates the pace once race control has confirmed that the safety car will return to the pits, before he commences racing action. But from next year, safety car restarts will be a standing start from the grid. 'Standing starts will not be carried out if the Safety Car is used within two laps of the start (or restart) of a race or if there are less than five laps of the race remaining', read a statement. The World Motor Sport Council also confirmed a series of sporting and technical changes....
