Vettel hit with grid penalty

Sebastian Vettel will be handed a five-place grid penalty for the Spanish Grand Prix due to a gearbox change. At the start of Q3, Vettel stopped on track having been stuck in fifth gear. Speaking after the session, Vettel said he hoped the problem wasn't serious enough to warrant a gearbox change due to the penalty that comes with it, but the team has now confirmed a change is required. As a result, Vettel drops from 10th to 15th on the grid and will start behind Kevin Magnussen's McLaren, with Nico Hulkenberg, Sergio Perez, Daniil Kvyat and Esteban Gutierrez all promoted one place.
